New Mexico State University invites applications for a 9-month tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Department of Communication Disorders. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, develop an active research program, and provide service to the department, college, and university. Regular on-campus duties are required.

Qualifications include a Ph.D. in related field (ABD considered with degree completion by start date) and evidence of effective communication skills.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in speech-language pathology, communication sciences and disorders, or a closely-related field (ABD considered with evidence of degree completion by the employment date).
• If Ph.D. is in a related field, a minimum of 36 graduate credits must be in speech-language pathology/communication disorders.
• Demonstrate effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide undergraduate and graduate instruction in one or more areas: Spanish/English bilingual speech-language pathology, pediatric language disorders, AAC, and/or research methods.
• Develop/engage in an active research program leading to peer-reviewed publications and extramural funding.
• Participate in shared faculty governance, strategic planning, curriculum review, student outcome assessment, and advisement.
