Texas A&M International University (TAMIU) invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders to begin Fall 2027. This 9‑month tenure‑track position requires face‑to‑face attendance on campus in Laredo, Texas, and involves teaching, scholarly activity, and service to the department and university.

Qualifications

• The successful candidate must hold a doctorate in Communication Sciences and Disorders or related field from a regionally accredited institution.
• ABDs will also be considered but must have earned a doctorate before appointment.
• Candidates must demonstrate potential for teaching, peer‑reviewed scholarship, external funding, and supporting first‑generation students, and hold or be eligible for Texas SLP licensure and/or ASHA CCC‑SLP certification.

Responsibilities

• Teach assigned courses in the Communication Sciences and Disorders program; evaluate students' progress in coursework; complete administrative aspects of assigned courses; supervise field-based students or student internships when needed; demonstrate scholarly productivity through publications and conference attendance; assist in developing a Master’s program; provide service to the department, college and university; work face-to-face on campus.
