Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks two tenure-track faculty at the Assistant or Associate Professor level in the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. These positions are primarily research-oriented, with startup funds and modern lab space provided to establish independent programs.

We welcome candidates in organ physiology, molecular, cellular or tissue biophysics, electrophysiology, neurobiology, and related fields.

Qualifications

• PhD, MD or MD/PhD (or foreign equivalent) and postdoctoral research experience required.
• Current extramural biomedical research funding is required as evidence of fundability.
• Three letters of recommendation.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead externally funded research programs across physiology and biophysics.
• Mentor and train graduate students and postdocs; contribute to teaching.
• Collaborate across departments and campus to advance interdisciplinary research.
