Job summary

Stony Brook University seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Biochemistry and Structural Biology. Qualifications

• Ph.D. and/or M.D. in biochemistry, biophysics, chemistry, or related biology, and at least two years of postdoctoral experience.
• Demonstrated excellence in innovative research and a strong commitment to teaching at undergraduate and graduate levels.

Responsibilities

• Establish a strong, externally funded independent research program addressing mechanistic problems in biological systems at the level of molecular structure, interactions, and dynamics.
• Mentor and teach undergraduate and graduate students; contribute to departmental teaching and service.
• Utilize advanced structural biology techniques (cryo-EM, crystallography) to elucidate biological mechanisms.
• Collaborate with internal cores and external partners to advance research and training.
