Augustana College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Physics beginning in August of the 2027-2028 academic year. The successful candidate will teach 24 credits per 10-month year and contribute to undergraduate research and program development. We seek mission-driven scholars who value interdisciplinary collaboration, excellence in teaching, and service to the department and college community.

ABD candidates considered; Ph.D. required by August 2027.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Engineering Physics, Physics, Applied Physics, Engineering, or comparable field by August 2027.
• Ability to teach introductory and advanced physics courses, labs, and electives.
• Develop a research program involving undergraduate students.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits per 10-month academic year (courses typically 4 credits).
• Develop specialty courses and contribute to general education.
• Engage in interdisciplinary collaboration and service to the department.
• Establish an undergraduate research program and mentor students.
