University of Wisconsin-Whitewater seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Philosophy with specialization in Social and Political Philosophy. The 4/4 teaching load includes World of Ideas (capstone) and at least one History of Philosophy course.

The role also supports Liberal Studies advising, curriculum development, and service to the university and community. The candidate should hold a PhD in Philosophy by August 2027, with ABD accepted if degree is completed by contract start date.

Formación

• PhD in Philosophy required by August 2027; ABD candidates may apply but must complete degree before contract start date.
• AOS: Social and Political Philosophy.
• Experienced university-level teaching; ability to contribute to interdisciplinary programs such as Women’s and Gender Studies and/or Race and Ethnic Studies.

Responsabilidades

• Teach 24 credits per academic year.
• Teach World of Ideas (General Education capstone) and at least one History of Philosophy course.
• Advise Liberal Studies majors and contribute to curriculum development.
• Maintain timely communication with students via Navigate, Canvas, and email.
• Participate in departmental, college and university service and governance.
