North Central College invites applications for a tenure-track position in Marketing at Open Rank, to begin Fall 2027. The Department of Management & Marketing seeks a scholar committed to teaching and ongoing research within a dynamic liberal arts setting.

Responsibilities include teaching Marketing courses, developing curricula, mentoring students, and contributing to AACSB accreditation efforts. Salary range is $85,000–$105,000 with strong benefits and startup support.

Position Title

Tenure-Track, Marketing (Open Rank)

Position Summary

The Department of Management & Marketing in the School ofBusiness and Entrepreneurship at North Central College invitesapplications for a tenure-track position in Marketing, to beginFall 2027.

Duties
  • Teaching a variety of Marketing courses, such as Introductionto Marketing, Business & Economic Statistics, ConsumerBehavior, Market Research, Data Analytics, Marketing Management,among others, at the undergraduate and/or graduate level. Thetypical teaching load is 20 credits per academic year (3-2schedule, with 4-credit hour courses). A course release isavailable in the first year for new faculty, and start-up fundingmay also be available.
  • Assessing student work and providing detailed feedback on howto improve their content knowledge, critical thinking skills, oraland written communication skills, etc.
  • Developing curricula for courses, minors, graduatecertificates, and potential majors in the School of Business &Entrepreneurship and the Department of Management & Marketingby coordinating with other academic departments to develop acurriculum that meets the needs of students in a wide range ofacademic areas.
  • Mentoring undergraduate students and student groups outside theclassroom by engaging students in research as applicable, advisingstudent groups, etc.
  • Attending conferences and workshops as necessary to remainactive in the field(s) of study; engage with the Department ofManagement & Marketing to further develop teaching andmentoring skills; complete campus-wide training required by theOffices of Academic Affairs and Human Resources.
  • Pursuing current and new research activities in the field(s) ofstudy, including new research projects, writing/dissemination ofcurrent and future research, and presentation of research atconferences.
  • Performing other departmental duties and attend activities asnecessary, including attending department meetings, andparticipating in committees, task forces, and others asrequired.
  • Maintaining Scholarly Academic (SA) qualifications for AACSBaccreditation.
Basic Qualifications

Basic qualifications are required at the time of application.

  • The successful candidate will have completed a Ph.D. inMarketing or a related field. ABD may be considered if degree iscompleted by the start date.
  • Applicants must demonstrate commitment to excellence inteaching and mentoring of students, and ongoing scholarship.
