Job summary

Asbury University in Kentucky is seeking a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Literacy Education. The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses, contribute to the department’s literacy curriculum, and engage in service activities; appointment begins Fall 2027.

Responsibilities include teaching 24–25 credit hours annually, providing leadership for the literacy program, advising students, and collaborating with P-12 schools to support diverse learners.

Qualifications

• Terminal degree in Literacy Education or closely related field.
• Experience with evidence-based literacy instruction, assessment and intervention.
• Experience mentoring preservice teachers or collaborating with P-12 schools.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24–25 credit hours in an academic year and advise students.
• Provide leadership to advance the literacy program and curriculum.
• Teach both undergraduate and graduate courses in person and online.
