Job summary

Eastern Connecticut State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Latin American History. The appointment will involve teaching world history surveys and a variety of upper-division Latin American history courses for the Latin American Studies Program, as well as core-curriculum offerings.

Preference is given to candidates contributing to digital history and community engagement initiatives. The successful candidate must hold a Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Latin American History or related field must be in hand by start date (Aug 2027).
• Experience teaching world history survey courses and upper-division Latin American history.
• Preference given to candidates who can contribute to the department's digital history program and community engagement.

Responsibilities

• Teach introductory world history survey courses.
• Teach a range of upper-division Latin American history courses for the Latin American Studies Program.
• Offer courses for Eastern's liberal arts core curriculum, including interdisciplinary seminars.
• Support the department's digital history initiatives and community engagement programs.
