Job summary

South Dakota State University in Brookings seeks an Assistant Professor of Interior Design in the School of Design. The position is tenure-track, 9-month, full-time, with a 60% teaching, 30% research, 10% service mix.

The candidate will teach courses in materials, CAD software (Revit, SketchUp, Enscape), codes, and curricular studio areas across residential, commercial, hospitality, and education contexts.

Qualifications

• PhD in interior design or interior architecture or a related field by start date.
• Ability to develop and teach courses in disciplinary content areas.
• Engage in research with peer-reviewed dissemination.

Responsibilities

• Teach courses within the professional curriculum (materials, CAD software, codes/regulations).
• Provide service to the discipline, university, and community.
• Teach in multi-disciplinary courses within the School of Design.
• Conduct a research agenda with dissemination of peer-reviewed products.
