Job summary

University of New Mexico Art in Albuquerque invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in the History of Photography. The appointment begins Fall 2027, with a teaching load of 2/2.

The candidate will teach lower- and upper-division undergrad courses, graduate courses in the history of photography, and service courses as needed. They will participate on MA, MFA, and PhD committees and advise students specializing in the History of Photography.

Qualifications

• Scholarly record in History of Photography and Art History.
• Ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in history of photography.

Responsibilities

• Teach lower- and upper-division undergraduate courses and graduate courses in history of photography.
• Teach general service courses (surveys) as needed.
• Advise M.A. and Ph.D. students specializing in History of Photography.
• Serve on B.A./B.F.A., M.A., M.F.A., and Ph.D. committees across the department and possibly other departments.
• Engage in research and publish on topics related to the history of photography.
