The Warnell School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Georgia invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position in Forest Genetics, Genomics and/or Tree Breeding at the Assistant or Associate Professor level, with a 9-month appointment. Potential areas include forest genetics, genomics, tree breeding, genomic selection, and gene editing for forest productivity and health.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Forestry, Horticulture, Plant Genetics, Crop and Soil Science, or a closely related field.
• Tenure-track readiness with strong publication record and potential for external funding.
• Experience in forest genetics/genomics or tree breeding is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop an externally funded program in forest genetics/genomics.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Forest Genetics/Tree Improvement and Forest Biotechnology.
• Engage in professional service and collaborate across campus and with external partners.
