Job summary

The School of Business at the University of Kansas is seeking up to two Assistant Professors in Finance for the 2027-28 academic year. These are full-time, academic-year tenure-track positions.

Successful candidates will publish in leading journals, teach courses with rigorous content at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels, and engage in service and outreach that advance the educational mission of the School of Business and the University of Kansas.

Qualifications

• A Ph.D. degree in Finance or related field (must be earned by August 18, 2027).
• Demonstrated (or evidence of high potential for) scholarship excellence as shown through publications and working papers.
• Demonstrated (or evidence of high potential for) teaching excellence.

Responsibilities

• 40% Research: Develop and sustain an active program of scholarly research in finance and related fields, leading to publications in high-quality academic journals.
• 40% Teaching: Teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses in finance and related disciplines with instruction, mentoring, and curriculum development.
• 20% Service: Engage in service activities that support the area, school, university, profession, and broader community.
