Job summary

The University of Kansas School of Business is recruiting up to two Assistant Professors in Finance for the 2027-28 academic year. These are full-time, tenure-track positions. Candidates will publish in leading journals and teach at undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels, while engaging in service to the school and the university.

Successful candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. by the appointment date, with background checks and union participation considerations noted.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Finance or related field required (to be earned by Aug 18, 2027).
• Evidence of scholarship excellence via publications or working papers.
• Demonstrated teaching excellence and ability to teach at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels.

Responsibilities

• 40% Research: sustain an active program leading to publications and scholarly contributions in finance.
• 40% Teaching: deliver undergraduate and/or graduate finance courses, advise students, and support curriculum development.
• 20% Service: participate in committees, outreach, and service activities aligned with rank and unit mission.
