Loyola University New Orleans’ College of Business invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Finance beginning Fall 2027. The ideal candidate will have a robust research agenda and be committed to innovative teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

The position emphasizes teaching in Financial Management, Investments, and Fintech, with opportunities to develop courses in AI in Finance, Data Analytics, ESG investing, and advanced modeling. A Ph.D.

Qualifications

  • Ph.D. in Finance or closely related field; ABD considered if degree completed by start date.
  • Strong teaching skills and commitment to engaging learning environments for diverse students.
  • Experience or willingness to integrate AI, ML, or blockchain in finance.
  • Familiarity with programming languages (Python, R) and financial modeling/data analytics tools.

Responsibilities

  • Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses as assigned (e.g., Financial Management, Investments).
  • Participate in course development in AI, data analytics, and fintech topics.
  • Advise students and engage in scholarly activity and service to the College of Business.

Job description

The College of Business at Loyola University New Orleans invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor in Finance beginning Fall 2027.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in finance, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as corporate finance, investments and financial analytics. Candidates should exhibit a commitment to innovative, engaged teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and a desire to stay at the forefront of emerging trends in finance and technology. Candidates must possess a strong research agenda aimed at publishing in ranked academic journals.

Teaching Responsibilities

The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, with possible courses including:

  • Financial Management
  • Investment Management
  • Financial Statement Analytics
  • International Finance
  • Fintech and Emerging Financial Technologies
Future Course Development Opportunities

Additional opportunities may include contributing to evolving areas such as:

All tenure-track faculty positions at Loyola University New Orleans require a 3-3 teaching load, continuous scholarly activity, student advising and service to institutional committees. Candidates in their first faculty appointment after completing their PhD are eligible for a reduction in teaching load during the first year to support research activities.

  • Familiarity with the Jesuit educational model and a demonstrated ability to engage students from diverse backgrounds, including first-generation students
