The College of Business seeks a candidate who can teach courses in Financial Management, Investments, Financial Statement Analytics, and fintech trends, while pursuing innovative scholarly work and contributing to Jesuit educational

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Finance or closely related field (ABD considered if degree completed by start date).
• Strong teaching skills with engaging learning environment for diverse students.
• Experience or willingness to integrate AI, machine learning, or blockchain in finance.
• Familiarity with financial software and tools, including programming languages (Python, R) and data analytics platforms.
• Familiarity with the Jesuit educational model and engaging students from diverse backgrounds.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses such as Financial Management, Investments, Financial Statement Analytics, International Finance, Fintech and Emerging Financial Technologies.
• Contribute to course development in areas like AI in Finance, Data Analytics, ESG, Quantitative Finance, and Advanced Financial Modeling.
• Maintain a robust research agenda and publish in ranked academic journals.
• Engage in advising, service, and committee work within the College of Business.

The ideal candidate will have a robust background in finance, with demonstrated expertise in areas such as corporate finance, investments and financial analytics. Candidates should exhibit a commitment to innovative, engaged teaching at both undergraduate and graduate levels, and a desire to stay at the forefront of emerging trends in finance and technology. Candidates must possess a strong research agenda aimed at publishing in ranked academic journals.

The successful applicant will be expected to teach undergraduate and graduate finance courses, with possible courses including:

• -Financial Management

• -International Finance
• -Fintech and Emerging Financial Technologies

All tenure-track faculty positions at Loyola University New Orleans require a 3-3 teaching load, continuous scholarly activity, student advising and service to institutional committees. Candidates in their first faculty appointment after completing their PhD are eligible for a reduction in teaching load during the first year to support research activities.

The Joseph A. Butt, S.J., College of Business currently enrolls almost 600 undergraduate students in degree programs leading to majors in accounting, analytics, economics, finance, management, marketing, and international business. Approximately 150 students are enrolled in graduate programs. Recently, the College launched a new undergraduate program in Entrepreneurship and graduate programs in Marketing & Communication and Healthcare Management.
