Job summary

The University of Notre Dame’s Department of Computer Science and Engineering invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the intersection of ethics and computing, including responsible and trustworthy AI, fairness, privacy, security, and governance. Ranks include Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor, with affiliation to the Institute for Ethics and the Common Good.

Qualified candidates will hold a Ph.D. in computer science or a related field by August 1, 2027.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. required by Aug 1, 2027 or completed.
• Ph.D. in computer science or related discipline for advanced ranks.

Responsibilities

• Research in area of ethics and computing; teaching at graduate and undergraduate levels.
• Contribute to service and professional activities; mentor students and lead research projects.
• Collaborate across the Notre Dame Ethics Initiative and Institute for Ethics and the Common Good.
