City College of San Francisco invites applications for a tenure-track full-time ESL faculty position in the Department of English as a Second Language. The successful candidate will teach across the ESL curriculum, including literacy to advanced levels, and contribute to program development, curriculum assessment, and student support.

The role emphasizes equity and participation in governance. Instruction may occur at Ocean Campus and online, with in-person teaching required at times.

Competenze

• Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to work with community college students from diverse backgrounds.
• Master’s degree in TESL, TESOL, English with TESL concentration, Linguistics with TESL concentration, or related field.
• Master’s + TESL certificate or equivalent education credentials as required.
• Equivalency or equivalent qualifications may be considered.

Mansioni

• Teach across the full ESL curriculum including literacy through advanced levels in credit and noncredit programs.
• Deliver instruction in-person and/or online using Canvas LMS and Zoom.
• Develop/revise course outlines, programs, SLOs, and assessment instruments.
• Maintain regular office hours and provide academic advising to multilingual learners.
• Participate in governance, department meetings, and program development with an equity-minded approach.
• Maintain student records and complete required HR/paperwork in a timely manner.

Formazione

Master’s Degree in TESL/English/Linguistics with TESL concentration

Master’s degree + TESL certificate (17+ units)

Equivalent credential
