University of Wisconsin-Whitewater invites applications for an Assistant Professor (Tenure-Track) in Environmental and Occupational Safety & Health. The role includes a 24-credit annual teaching load and responsibility for undergraduate courses in Occupational Safety and graduate courses in the online MS program, with ongoing research and service obligations.

The appointment begins August 2027 in the Department of Occupational & Environmental Safety & Health, College of Business & Economics.

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in environmental safety and health or closely related field by the contract start date (August 2027).
• ABD candidates may apply but must complete degree by the contract start; if not, a one-year contract with completion before Jan 2028.
• Demonstrated commitment to teaching and scholarly potential; inclusive populations.
• Research record in environmental safety and health or ability to develop a research agenda.
• Good oral and written communication and interpersonal skills; demonstrated AI application in instructional/assessment materials.

Responsibilities

• Teach 24 credits per academic year across undergraduate and online Master of Science programs.
• Develop and pursue an active research agenda aligned with OESH.
• Contribute to service, curriculum development, ABET-ANSAC accreditation, and BCSP QAP status.
