Job summary

Western Illinois University in Macomb, IL invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor of Engineering Technology in the School of Engineering Technology. The appointment is nine months, full-time, with potential summer teaching opportunities.

Salary ranges from $80,006 to $100,008 per year, commensurate with progressive experience, and WIU offers a broad benefits package including health, dental, vision, life, and retirement plans. Screening will begin on November 9, 2026.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in a related field from an accredited university.
• Relevant professional industrial and/or manufacturing management work experience.
• Distinguished record in teaching, scholarship, and service with a research alignment to WIU SET.
• Ability to work with multiple constituencies and across diverse disciplines.
• U.S. citizen or permanent resident.

Responsibilities

• Develop and teach undergraduate and graduate courses in electronics, industrial power and control systems, facilities management, robotics, and drone systems.
• Evaluate and report on Student Learning Outcomes and Program Objectives.
• Collaborate with faculty and maintain laboratory equipment and software; serve on committees.
• Advise and mentor student organizations; maintain office hours per contract.
• Foster corporate and community alliances and assist in student recruitment and retention.
