Wesleyan University’s College of Social Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position starting July 1, 2027. We seek scholars with primary research and teaching interests in history of economic thought, economic history, political economy, or economic philosophy, and a Ph.D.

in economics by appointment. The teaching load is four courses per year, with advising and mentoring students, ongoing research, and participation in faculty governance.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics required by time of appointment.
• Specialization in history of economic thought, economic history, political economy, or economic philosophy.
• Ability to teach and mentor a diverse undergraduate population.

Responsibilities

• Teach a four-course load per year at the College of Social Studies.
• Advise and mentor students and participate in governance.
• Maintain an active program of research and scholarship.
