Wesleyan University’s College of Social Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning July 1, 2027 from scholars with primary research and teaching interests in history of economic thought, economic history, political economy, and/or economic philosophy. A Ph.D.

in economics is required by appointment, with potential to start as instructor if on track to complete within one year. Four-course teaching load, advising, research, and governance duties.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics required by time of appointment or on track to complete within one year.
• Teaching load is four courses per year.
• Duties include advising, mentoring, and participating in governance.

Responsabilités

• Teach four courses per year across history of economic thought, economic history, political economy, and/or economic philosophy.
• Advise and mentor students and pursue an active research program.
• Engage in faculty governance at the college and university levels.
