Wesleyan University’s College of Social Studies invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position beginning July 1, 2027. The hire will focus on history of economic thought, economic history, political economy, and/or economic philosophy, with a four-course annual teaching load and responsibilities in advising, research, and governance.

A Ph.D. in economics is required by appointment or on track to complete within one year; advanced assistant professors are encouraged to

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in economics must be in hand by time of appointment or on track to complete within one year.
• Teaching load is four courses per year.
• Advise and mentor students; maintain a visible research program.
• Participate in faculty governance at CSS and university levels.
