Job summary

Carleton College’s Psychology Department seeks a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology (preferably with social, personality, and/or identity development in children) starting September 1, 2027. The role involves teaching five courses per year in a trimester system and mentoring undergraduate researchers.

Applicants with a completed Ph.D. in psychology are preferred, but those who will finish by September 2027 will be considered.

Qualifications

• Teach introductory psychology, data analysis (statistics) and mid-level developmental psychology courses.
• Lead undergraduate research labs and hands-on demonstrations.
• Supervise and mentor undergraduate students in research projects.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year within Carleton’s trimester system.
• Develop courses and contribute to seminar offerings in developmental psychology or related subfields.
• Collaborate with colleagues and supervise student researchers in the lab.
