Job summary

Carleton College in Northfield, Minnesota, invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology (preferably focused on social, personality, and/or identity development in children). The successful candidate will teach five courses per year within Carleton’s trimester system and lead undergraduate research in a small, undergraduate, liberal arts setting.

The appointment begins September 1, 2027. A completed Ph.D.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in psychology preferred; applicants who will complete by Sep 2027 will be considered.
• Experience teaching in a liberal arts environment is desirable.
• Commitment to teaching a diverse student body at a liberal arts college.

Responsibilities

• Teach five courses per year in Carleton’s trimester system (Fall, Winter, Spring).
• Supervise undergraduate research labs and hands-on demonstrations.
• Develop new courses and contribute to curricular offerings.
• Mentor undergraduate students and support a productive research program.
