Job summary

University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point invites applications for Assistant Professor of Dance – Tenure Track to join our undergraduate program. The Dance Program offers a BA and emphasizes techniques across ballet, hip hop, jazz, modern, and tap.

The successful candidate will teach 2-3 technique classes and at least one theory or methods course, contribute to curricular development, advise students, and participate in scholarly activity and rehearsals each year.

Qualifications

• MFA in Dance required.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching jazz technique at all levels.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching Hip Hop, House, Street, Latin styles or other related styles/genres.
• Professional performance and/or choreographic experience.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach 2–3 technique classes and one theory class per semester.
• Advise students and recruit for the program.
• Choreograph and/or assist with musical theatre productions as needed.
• Contribute to curriculum development and scholarly/creative activity.
