Job summary

The UW-Stevens Point Dance Program invites applications for an Assistant Professor of Dance – Tenure Track, joining a BA program and a dynamic faculty team in the Department of Theatre and Dance.

The candidate will teach jazz at all levels and contribute to courses in Dance Composition, History, Movement Analysis, and Teaching Theories, with opportunities to choreograph and develop new curricula across diverse dance forms.

Qualifications

• MFA in Dance is required.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching jazz technique at all levels.
• Demonstrated expertise teaching Hip Hop, House, Street, Latin styles or other related styles/genres.
• Professional performance and/or choreographic experience.
• Proven ability to work in a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

• Teach a range of dance techniques and courses including Dance Composition, Dance History, Movement Analysis, and Teaching Theories.
• Contribute to curricular initiatives and develop new courses for the Dance Program.
• Choreograph for dance majors/minors and potentially musical theatre productions.
• Advise and mentor students and participate in general education offerings.
