Job summary

California Polytechnic State University invites applications for a full-time, academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor position in the Computer Science & Software Engineering Department at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, beginning Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will teach undergraduate and master's level courses and contribute to curricular development in computer science and/or software engineering.

Qualifications

• Excellence in teaching and communication required.
• Ability to develop externally funded, applied research programs involving undergraduates and graduates.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with students, staff and faculty.
• Demonstrated proficiency in written and oral English.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and master's level courses.
• Support and expand curricular development in computer science and/or software engineering.
