Job summary

Montana State University Billings invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor of Criminal Justice to begin fall 2027. This tenure-track position will teach undergraduate courses in careers in criminal justice, applied research methods, crime theory and data, and ethics, and graduate courses in research methods, data analysis and policy.

The department offers AS and BS degrees and a new MS in criminal justice.

Qualifications

• PhD in criminal justice, criminology, or related field (ABD considered).
• Willingness to teach at both undergraduate and graduate levels.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in criminal justice, research methods, crime theory and data, and ethics.
• Teach graduate courses in graduate research methods, data analysis and management, advanced crime theory and data, ethics and public policy.
• Facilitate graduate coordinator duties for the MS in Criminal Justice.
• Engage in scholarship and service per department guidelines.
