Job summary

Norfolk State University seeks a tenure-track Assistant/Associate Professor in Construction Management Engineering Technology. Qualifications

• Terminal degree (Ed.D., Ph.D., or equivalent) in Architecture, Construction Management, or related field.
• Subject-area expertise in architecture, construction management, structural systems and design with studio-based drafting, AutoCAD, Revit, BIM, estimation and project management.
• Experience with ABET accreditation and curriculum development.
• Familiarity with online teaching platforms (e.g., Blackboard).
• At least three years of professional architectural or construction industry experience.
• Ability to build relationships with construction and design industries to support program improvement.
• Strong communication skills and a student-centered mindset.
• Commitment to collegiality and collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate courses in Architectural Drafting and Construction Management Engineering Technology with emphasis on technical and studio-based instruction.
• Develop and sustain partnerships with the construction and architectural design industries for internships, field trips, and professional development opportunities.
• Mentor student chapters of ABC and NAHB.
• Contribute to program and curriculum development and participate in program assessment and accreditation activities.
• Advise and mentor students to promote a student-centered learning environment.
