Job summary

Alvin Community College seeks a tenure-track Communication instructor to teach across face-to-face, hybrid, and online modalities at multiple College locations, including ISD high schools and TDCJ facilities in Texas. The role begins January 2027 and requires a master’s in Communication or a related field with 18 graduate hours.

Responsibilities include syllabus prep, engaging instruction, assessing students, advising, and active participation in curriculum development and program assessment.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Communication; or master’s degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Communication or a related field.
• Ability to teach across multiple modalities including face-to-face, hybrid, and online.
• Experience with instructional technology and video/media production is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Teach and supervise students in Communication courses across instructional formats, times, and locations.
• Prepare course syllabi, instructional materials, and assessments per College standards.
• Deliver engaging instruction using teaching methodologies and educational resources.
• Assess student performance and maintain academic records and reports.
• Advise students and connect them with College resources.
• Utilize LMS to support online and hybrid instruction.
• Participate in curriculum development and program assessment.
