Job summary

Fairfield University’s Department of History seeks applications for a tenure-track assistant professor in the history of China, to begin fall 2027, pending final budget approval. • PhD in History required by time of appointment.
• Demonstrated record of excellence in teaching, scholarly research, and service at the university level.

Responsibilities

• Teach three classes per semester (two preps).
• Offer courses at all levels of the undergraduate curriculum, including introductory, intermediate survey, and advanced seminars in the candidate's specialty.
• Engage in scholarly research and service activities and participate in Asian Studies and interdisciplinary programs as appropriate.
• Contribute to the university's core curriculum priorities, including writing across the curriculum, social justice, and interdisciplinarity.
