Job summary

San José State University invites applications for a tenure-track assistant professor position in chemistry beginning August 2027. The candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical and/or physical chemistry and develop an active research program involving undergraduate and MS students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry (or equivalent doctoral degree).
• Research experience in one of the subdisciplines of chemistry.
• Demonstrated awareness of diverse student populations and inclusive teaching.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in analytical and/or physical chemistry.
• Develop a robust research program engaging undergraduate and MS students.
• Submit grant proposals and manuscripts to peer-reviewed journals.
• Participate in department, college, and university service.
