Job summary

Contra Costa Community College District is hiring a Tenure-Track Assistant Professor of Chemistry. The candidate will teach transfer-level chemistry in-person, hybrid, and online formats while fostering an inclusive learning environment and contributing to department and college initiatives.

Starting August 2027, salary placement ranges with experience, spanning from roughly $68k to $119k annually, with strong emphasis on equity and student success.

Qualifications

• Master’s in chemistry or equivalent outlined in the job description.
• Bachelor’s in chemistry or biochemistry with Master’s in biochemistry, chemical engineering, chemical physics, physics, molecular biology or geochemistry, or the equivalent.
• Equivalency option available with a Master’s degree discipline equivalency form.

Responsibilities

• Teach transfer-level chemistry courses in various modalities.
• Provide inclusive learning environment and promote student success.
• Engage in department, college governance and program improvement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and assessment of student learning outcomes.
