Job summary

The Department of Chemistry at San José State University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in chemistry beginning August 2027. The appointee will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Analytical and/or Physical chemistry, and develop an active research program involving undergraduate and MS students.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. in Chemistry or equivalent doctoral degree.
• Research experience in one of the subdisciplines of chemistry.
• Awareness of and sensitivity to the educational goals of a socially and economically diverse student population.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in Analytical and/or Physical chemistry.
• Develop a research program engaging undergraduate and MS students.
• Engage in shared governance and service within the department and university.
