The Department of Music at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position as Assistant Professor of Music in cello performance with expertise in individual studio teaching and creative performance, along with a related research area.

We seek a creative, collaborative colleague to teach studio lessons and ensembles within our Transformations in Music Studies curriculum, and to contribute to our diverse scholarly community.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in cello performance or related area; evidence of teaching excellence.
• Record of accomplishment in cello performance and creative activity; university teaching experience.
• Preference for DMA or PhD in cello performance; at least two years of university teaching.

Responsabilités

• Teach individual cello studio lessons and ensembles.
• Deliver courses and/or ensembles within Transformations in Music Studies.
• Develop forward-thinking research areas that complement the department.
