Job summary

Utah Tech University’s Department of Communication in St. George seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Professor of Digital Media with emphasis in public relations and digital storytelling.

The position involves a 4/4 teaching load covering PR, social media, contemporary multimedia storytelling, cross-platform content creation, and related courses. The full-time, 9-month tenure-track appointment begins July 1, 2027, with an annual salary of $58,000 plus additional compensation for summer/overload

Qualifications

• Doctorate or MFA with 10+ years experience considered; ABD acceptable if degree completes by July 1, 2027.
• Experience teaching digital media courses; preference for public relations, digital storytelling, social media, and strategic digital media creation.
• Evidence of student-centered teaching with proficiency in instructional technology.
• Ability to develop innovative curriculum for face-to-face and online instruction.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Teach up to 24 credits annually with emphasis on public relations and digital media storytelling; include institutional service.
• Assist in growth of communication programs and adapt courses with instructional technology.
• Potential to teach online courses and participate in teaching demonstrations.
• Engage in faculty duties including office hours, meetings, and committee service.
• Engage in scholarly or creative activity and mentoring of adjunct instructors.
