Job summary
DePaul University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Religious Studies beginning September 2027, focusing on Hebrew Scriptures. The successful candidate will demonstrate advanced proficiency in Biblical Hebrew and at least one other ancient language (Ugaritic, Akkadian, Aramaic, or Greek) and bring rigorous textual, theological, and historical analysis to the classroom.

Qualifications
- Ph.D. preferred; ABD considered if degree conferral is expected by September 2027.
- Proficiency in Biblical Hebrew and at least one other ancient language.
- Ability to teach Hebrew Bible and cross-disciplinary courses.
- Experience with rigorous textual, theological and historical analysis.
Responsibilities
- Teach undergraduate courses in Hebrew Bible and related topics.
- Develop and expand Hebrew Bible offerings and cross-disciplinary programs.
- Contribute to department service and curriculum development.
- Engage in scholarly research and professional service.
