Job summary

The Department of Psychology at the University of North Carolina Wilmington seeks a nine-month, tenure-track Assistant Professor in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior beginning Fall 2027.

The successful candidate will maintain an active laboratory program with nonhuman subjects, join ABA‑accredited programs, and contribute to undergraduate, masters, and doctoral training while pursuing external funding. Online teaching may be required.

Qualifications

• PhD in Behavioral Analysis, Psychology, or closely related field.
• Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain an independent program of laboratory research with nonhuman animal subjects.
• Experience teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in learning and the experimental analysis of behavior.
• Experience seeking and securing extramural research funding.
• Experience supervising graduate or undergraduate research and mentoring students.

Responsibilities

• Maintain an active research program; seek external and internal research funding.
• Supervise graduate research; mentor students in doctoral, master's, and undergraduate programs.
• Teach undergraduate and graduate courses (e.g., PSY 417: Advanced Learning and Behavior Analysis; PSY 617: Advanced Topics in the Experimental Analysis of Behavior).
• Contribute to departmental, university, and professional service; maintain a 3:2 teaching load; online teaching may be required.
