Western Carolina University invites applications for a 9-month, full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Psychology. The primary location is the main Cullowhee campus and the projected start is August 2027.

The department seeks a candidate who can teach general psychology, research methods, and related courses to a diverse undergraduate and graduate student body. The role includes maintaining an active research program with opportunities to supervise theses/dissertations, utilize EEG lab

Qualifications

• PhD in Psychology or closely related field from an accredited institution.
• ABD candidates will be considered with degree conferral by Aug 1, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Teach a 3-3 load each Fall and Spring semester, undergraduate and graduate courses.
• Mentor student research, supervise PSY 280/480/680 directed study, theses and dissertations.
• Develop an active research program and collaborate across departments and university.
