The successful candidate will be able to teach existing coursessuch as Multimodal Communication, Introduction to CommunicationStudies, Introduction to Mass Communication, InterculturalCommunication, and/or Public Speaking for Professional Success (atthe undergraduate and/or graduate-level),as well as develop newcourses to meet the needs of contemporary undergraduates.
Tenure-track faculty teach a 2-2 load for their first threeyears and a 3-2 load for their final two years before applying fortenure. Standard teaching load for tenured faculty is 3-2, with thepotential for additional course releases for exceptionalcreative/scholarly production.

Serving as the hub for writing and media, the department also houses the ClimateCreativity Lab, Writing Center, ESOL Center, and Film and MediaStudies Lab.

PhD in Communication or related field, or other terminal degree.ABD candidates will be considered. The successful hire will need to have terminal degree in hand by September 1, 2027.
Candidates should have experience as the instructor of recordfor an introductory course in communication (e.g., public speakingor an introductory/gateway course in communication, media studies,or design). Candidates should also have one or more peer-reviewedscholarly publications or juried works.
