Qualifications

• M.Ed. in Music Education or M.M. in Music required.
• Ph.D. in Music Education or D.M.A. in Music preferred (ABD considered with stipulation for degree completion for tenure-track appointment).
• A minimum of three (3) years of successful teaching experience in instrumental music (concert band and marching band) at the high school, middle school, college/university, or combined levels.
• Strong musicianship and leadership in marching and concert band settings, with a deep commitment to student mentorship and development.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Director of Bands with the Might Marching Hornets during the fall semester and the basketball pep band in the spring.
• Arrange music and write drills for the marching and concert ensembles; conduct for various concert groups; teach applied lessons or courses in the music education curriculum.
• Support daily operations of instrumental ensembles, including rehearsal, performances, and administrative logistics.
• Contribute to the artistic vision of the program and help develop innovative performances and community outreach.
