Job summary

Cal Poly's Industrial and Manufacturing Engineering Department invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track Assistant Professor position beginning August 12, 2027.

The candidate will teach undergraduate and master's level courses, develop curricula and contribute to scholarly work with emphasis on data analytics and AI in healthcare, manufacturing, transportation, and energy applications.

Qualifications

• Earned doctorate in industrial engineering, operations research, or a closely related field.
• Ability to develop externally funded, applied research programs with undergraduate and graduate students.
• Excellent written and oral communication; ability to teach undergraduate and graduate courses.

Responsibilities

• Teach undergraduate and master's level courses.
• Develop and expand curricular offerings in industrial engineering.
• Establish a funded external research program with student involvement.
• Provide service to the department and university.
