Job summary

PBI Tennis at Carmel Valley Ranch in Carmel-by-the-Sea, California, seeks a Tennis or Pickleball Professional to deliver world‑class instruction and guest service in a hospitality setting.

Responsibilities include supervising court play, promoting clinics and events, providing private and group instruction, developing adult and junior programs, and ensuring safety and maintenance while collaborating with other departments to enhance the member experience.

Qualifications

• Must have AA degree or 1–5 years related experience as head tennis professional/instruction.
• CPR, First Aid Certification, and Teaching Certification (Tennis) required.
• USTA rating of 4.0 or better preferred.

Responsibilities

• Supervises all tennis and racquet play and proper charging of fees, and rental of equipment.
• Directs tennis clinics, special events and programs to attract and maintain members’ interests.
• Provides private and group instruction for all levels of players.
• Implements and develops lesson programs for adults and juniors.
• Ensures club rules and safety; reports maintenance issues daily.
• Plans monthly calendar of events and coordinates with other departments.
• Interviews, trains, and directs staff; evaluates performance and discipline as needed.
