The Huntington Club in Huntington Beach, CA is seeking a Part-Time Tennis Instructor to deliver high-quality private and group instruction, support clinics and events, and assist with daily court operations while upholding hospitality and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have experience teaching tennis in clubs or academies, strong playing ability, and USPTA or PTR certification (or willingness to obtain). Excellent communication and organizational skills are required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality private and group tennis instruction for adults and juniors, ensuring a positive and engaging learning environment.
  • Support the development and execution of tennis programs, clinics, leagues, and special events that enhance the member experience.
  • Maintain a warm, approachable, and professional presence on the courts, ensuring members feel welcomed and supported.
  • Assist with daily court operations, including court setup, equipment organization, and ensuring a safe playing environment.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a community-oriented atmosphere consistent with The Medallion Club experience.
  • Communicate effectively with members, parents, and colleagues to ensure clarity, consistency, and high standards of service.
  • Collaborate with the Head Tennis Pro and club leadership to uphold club standards and continuously improve program offerings.
  • Represent The Medallion Club with professionalism and a commitment to service at all times.

Position Type: Part-Time

Compensation:$16.90 per hour Plus Commissions

Position Overview

The Tennis Professional plays a key role in delivering The Huntington Club experience by providing exceptional instruction, fostering a welcoming and member focused environment, and supporting the overall success of the tennis program. This position requires a commitment to service, strong communication skills, and a passion for creating a positive, community-oriented atmosphere for players of all ages and skill levels. The Tennis Professional will assist with lessons, clinics, events, and daily court operations while upholding club standards of excellence, safety, and hospitality.

Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand, walk, and actively coach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and move tennis equipment as needed (ball baskets, ball machines, etc.).
  • Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
