Job summary

In-Shape Fitness is seeking an Instructor/Coach to lead group fitness and recreational programs. You will motivate members, monitor progress, and deliver engaging, safe workouts for all ages. Classes may be live or virtual, with responsibilities across multiple formats.

Candidates must have a HS diploma or GED, relevant certifications, and complete internal trainings to teach paid programming. Evening/weekend availability is required, with a willingness to grow professionally.

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED equivalent required.
• National certification (AFAA, ACE, NASM, ISSA, etc.) or format-specific training accepted to teach free programming.
• Must complete online and in-person internal training requirements to teach paid programming.
• Lifeguard certification must be held to teach aqua programming; in-house training provided after hire.
• 2+ years of team sports experience to teach free programming; national certification required to teach paid programming.

Responsibilities

• Motivate members to explore group fitness classes, recreational sports programs and club amenities.
• Promote and participate in club events using social media and engage members.
• Provide welcoming, approachable instruction with genuine praise and clear cuing.
• Ensure safe access to paid programming and oversee class flow with modifications.
• Teach classes with proper form and technique; model correct exercise execution.
