Job summary

In-Shape Fitness is seeking an Instructor or Coach to lead group fitness and recreational sports programs, motivating members through safe, engaging workouts. You may lead live or virtual classes across ages, monitor progress and tailor cues to ensure each member feels successful.

The role emphasizes welcoming communication, class flow, and promoting a sense of belonging while upholding safety standards and club guidelines; training and certifications are required and growth opportunities are

Qualifications

• HS diploma or GED equivalent.
• Certifications are required and documentation must be submitted.
• National certification or format-specific training accepted to teach fitness classes.
• Lifeguard certification may be required for aqua programming.
• 2+ years of team sports experience for sports classes (preferred).
• Audition is part of the selection process.
• Current CPR or ability to pass CPR certification within 60 days of hire date.

Responsibilities

• Motivate members to explore group fitness classes and programs.
• Promote club events and engage members via social channels.
• Be welcoming, teach authentically, and offer genuine praise.
• Validate member access to paid programming.
• Deliver a motivating instructional experience with solid cues and a smooth class flow.
• Instruct on correct form and technique to ensure safety and benefits.
• Demonstrate workouts with proper form and equipment usage.
• Engage members outside class to build community and belonging.
• Encourage continued involvement across multiple programs.
• Follow equipment usage, storage, and maintenance procedures.
• Teach all assigned classes and arrange substitutions when needed.
• Complete trainings and key tasks on time.
• Maintain a safe environment through safety policies.
• Coach others and be open to coaching for growth.
• Resolve concerns ensuring member needs are met.
