Job summary

Prospect Park Alliance is seeking a Director of the Tennis Center to provide strategic leadership and oversee programming, facilities, staff, and business operations for the Center. The role focuses on delivering an exceptional visitor experience while driving sustainable revenue growth and financial performance.

You will lead a diverse team, manage budgets, collaborate with NYC Parks, and drive community engagement through tournaments, events, and partnerships.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in business management, sports management, or related discipline.
• Seven+ years of progressively responsible management experience, including at least three years in a leadership role overseeing recreation, sports, hospitality, membership, parks, nonprofit, or customer-facing operations.
• Experience in public recreational facilities or community-based sports programs.
• Knowledge of tennis including rules and regulations; certifications (USPTA/RSPA, PTR) a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership and oversight of programming, facilities, staff, and business operations for the Tennis Center to ensure exceptional visitor experience and financial performance.
• Lead development and execution of annual business plans to grow participation, court utilization, programming, and revenue.
• Oversee maintenance of facilities and manage a diverse staffing model including full-time, part-time, seasonal, and contracted staff; coordinate vendors and contractors.
