Description

The Staenberg-Loup JCC ) is looking for qualified Tennis Camp Instructors who can help create a fun and safe environment. We are looking for Instructors who are knowledgeable and responsible to join our team and the greater JCC community. At the JCC, we have a culture and environment of everyone welcome.

The Tennis Camp Instructor will be passionate about the game of tennis, proactive, self-motivated, have a friendly personality and excellent communication skills. They must be able to work with children between the ages, 4-17 years old. This position will be seasonal during the summer for our camps.

This position will run from June 1st, 2024 - August 2nd, 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Be a confident proponent of the ROGY pathway and educate players/parents on the benefits of this progression
  • Teach basic tennis fundamentals to children between the ages 4-17 years old
  • Instructing tennis to children ages 4 and up
  • Ensure the safety of all participants as they learn to play tennis
  • Monitor the Tennis Centers appearance making sure all lesson balls are picked up from court and behind curtains, ball storage area is clean and orderly and lesson and other equipment stored in an orderly fashion
  • Additional Responsibilities available when outside of instructing hours:
    • Greet members & guests enthusiastically
    • Answer Telephone calls
    • Assist members with purchases of retail goods and services
    • Promote memberships
    • Operate a cash register and credit card processor
Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • Minimum of 16 years old by Memorial Day under the department of labor guidelines
  • Three years of tennis experience
  • Experience instructing tennis to children ages 4+
  • Exceptional customer service skills, friendly, outgoing and positive attitude to provide member satisfaction for both old and young members
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and organizational skills
  • Ability to stand for several hours for duration of shift
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs.

  • First-Aid/CPR Certification
  • Strong Communication Skills
  • Advanced ability to multitask
  • Good interpersonal skills

Benefits Overview

This seasonal part-time position is not benefits-eligible. There are additional voluntary benefit plans available. The JCC has a 401(K) Plan available for elective deferral contributions for employees over 21 years of age, with no waiting period. Paid Time Off is a day-one benefit, accrued based on years of service and in compliance with the Colorado Healthy Families & Workplaces Act. There are discounts and perks available for our part-time staff as well.

Physical Demands and Working Environment:

This position requires the candidate to be able to care for childrens physical needs on a consistent basis. Candidates must be able to interact with children on their level; frequent bending, squatting and playing on the floor is expected. The candidate will be required to remain standing for prolonged hours on the tennis court while performing coaching duties. Candidate must be able to life 30 pounds. Candidate must remain alert and productive. While performing duties, the candidate is occasionally required to stand, walk use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms, talk and hear. The ideal candidate is able to be flexible with routines, and willing to engage in the overall community at the JCC.
