Job summary

Clasquin in the United States seeks a Tender Analyst to support the Pricing Department by managing RFQs and bids for ocean, air, and inland freight within the U.S. market.

You will collaborate with operations, sales, and finance to gather cost inputs, build rate models, and ensure bids are compliant, profitable, and delivered on time.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in pricing or tender roles in international freight forwarding, with strong Excel skills and knowledge of Incoterms.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain, business, finance or equivalent.
• 2–5 years in pricing, tender management or commercial roles in international freight.
• Strong understanding of international freight forwarding: ocean, air, intermodal, trucking.
• Knowledge of Incoterms, freight cost components and accessorial charges.
• High proficiency in MS Excel; experience with pricing tools, TMS or ERP preferred.
• Experience responding to large multinational RFQs and tenders.
• Familiarity with U.S. import/export regulations and FMC-forwarder operations.
• Strong analytical, organizational and time-management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

1. Definition and Purpose of the Position

The Tender Analyst supports the Pricing Department by managing, analyzing, and responding to customer Requests for Quotation (RFQs), tenders, and bids across international transportation services. This role is responsible for compiling competitive, compliant, and profitable pricing solutions for ocean, air, and inland freight services within the U.S. market while adhering to regulatory, contractual, and commercial requirements.

The Tender Analyst reports to the National Tender & Pricing Manager.

3. Main Duties, Activities & Responsibilities of the Position

The Tender Analyst is responsible for the following main tasks:

Tender & RFQ Management

• Manage end-to-end tender and RFQ responses for import, export, and domestic freight services.

• Analyze customer bid requirements, lane volumes, service levels, and contractual obligations.

• Coordinate with internal stakeholders (operations, sales, trade compliance, and finance) to gather accurate cost inputs.

• Ensure all tender submissions meet customer deadlines, formatting standards, and compliance requirements

Pricing & Cost Analysis

• Build detailed rate models including ocean, air, trucking, drayage, fuel, accessorials, and surcharges.

• Analyze carrier tariffs, contracts, and spot-market rates to ensure competitive pricing.

• Validate margin targets and profitability in accordance with company pricing strategy.

• Identify cost risks, assumptions, exclusions, and escalation clauses within bids.

Carrier & Vendor Coordination

• Liaise with ocean carriers, airlines, trucking partners, and overseas agents to secure rates.

• Maintain up-to-date carrier pricing, contracts, and service matrices.

• Support negotiations with vendors to optimize pricing and service commitments.

Compliance & Documentation

• Ensure tender responses align with U.S. regulatory requirements (FMC, TSA, DOT, CBP considerations).

• Review Incoterms®, scope of responsibility, and liability language included in bids.

• Maintain documentation and audit trails for submitted tenders.
